ARTIST FEATURE: Viva

Embodying the boundless energy, radiance and electrical sizzle of her genre, and armed with enough vivacity, poise and drive to take her craft to the next level, rock debutante Viva is one of gospel's newest, hottest and boldest arrivals on the scene. Staking her claim to her own share of musical territory in an audiospace already dominated by such pioneers as Jahdiel, Et Cetera, Eben, Iyke Onka and Nikki Laoye, Viva is the second artistic offshoot from indie label Tower Gate Records (of Win X Entertainment), already home to hip hop medical icon Dr Sankty. Barely having scaled the age 20 hurdle, Viva is already generating ripples in various underground circles, as well as her home church, Christ Embassy (curiously responsible for generating a sizeable chunk of the industry's acclaimed rock staples), and with her newfound home in TowerGate, is expected to rev up her game by no mean measure.

As with countless like her, love for music came at a tender age, where as far back as her primary school days she had already begun to thrill crowds of all ages with her vocal ability. Being the third of 4 children, she quickly stood  herself out as a talent to watch out for. As her melodic ears matured, her musical tastes soon gravitated towards the likes of Linkin Park, Flyleaf, Skillet, The Cranberries, Bon Jovi, Creed, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, and so on, as well as Yolanda Adams and world renowned praise/worshipper Don Moen.

Her artistry has carried her atop numerous stages, inclusive of countless events held by her home assembly, and she has graced similar stages with such acts as BOUQUI, Sammie Okposo, Lester Lewis, Nikki Laoye, Olufunmi,Kefee, Rooftop MCs, TB-One, Psalmos, and Big Dely Mo, to name a few.

Other credits to her artistry include a stage appearance in a premier event, the launching of  Club X, where she was selected to have a free video shot for her (that later matured into her present recording contract with TowerGate), an award for best songwriter of the year '08 in her assembly.

She also went on to appear in a
christmas music video, "Season's Greetings" in '09, where she was part of the Club X All Stars ensemble (that also starred T Clex, Psalmos, Clay, TB-One, J Treash, SamJamz & Big Dely Mo) that headlined the video, which later went on to air on local television stations as well as the Nigezie music rotation on satellite television.

One of her most noteworthy appearances was at this year's Efizi Nite (powered by DAYSTAR), where she was privileged to grace the same platform as top industry acts like Cobhams, RoofTop MCs, Eben, Nikki Laoye, Buchi, and many others.

Her first creative release, titled "Blessing Me" is presently available online and can be downloaded for FREE here

Presently, she is at work on a debut EP titled "Exposure".
