INTERVIEW: IBK Tha Spaceship Boi, Maverick, Martian or both?

Ibukun Emuwawon Kevin, better known as IBK Tha SpaceShip Boi, is veritably one of Naija gospel's uber-fast rising phenomena, effortlessly blending and connecting a vast range of seemingly unconnectable music genres together using Hip Hop/Rap/Neo-soul as his weaving thread. Ingenious in his unique interpretations of the artform, incorporating shades of spoken word, african chants and a dint of 'outer space' martian chatter, IBK has undeniably created a unique sonic habitat for himself. Catch the rest of his chat with Club X eMagazine (CXeM) below...

INTERVIEW: G.O.R. (God's Own Radicals) - Sparking Up A Wildfire

Meet GOR, a husband-and-wife hip hop duo with a mission and passion to flood the entertainment nation  with a Good News message, quite in direct conflict with the more popular commercially driven drivel of over-heightened sensualities that have come to be a staple in much of today’s media. In this Club X eMag (CXeM) exclusive, we get insights into what make this radical team so radical, and why against all odds, they still valiantly press on along a much less travelled path in the face of colossal pressure to lean the other way.

INTERVIEW: Up close with fast-rising Hip Hop heavy hitter/swagger merchant TBos

With a rock solid heart for expanding the Good News using the global powerhouse of hip hop as his double-edged sword, Tubosun Durotoye, better known as TBos, is challenging stereotypes, re-defining what the word ‘swagger’ really embodies, and raising the bar for a whole new generation of contemporary gospel media ministers. In this Club X exclusive interview, he sheds light on his driving forces, his former life, and a sneak peek into what lies ahead.

So, first and foremost, let’s get to know you. Let’s assume you walked into a room where absolutely nobody knew who TBos was, and you were asked to give a brief monologue about yourself. What would that be?

I’m Durotoye…'Bosun Durotoye (James Bond feel). An Information Technologist/Web Solution Provider by day and a Gospel Rap Artist by “DAY & NIGHT”... A dancer turned rap star. Last of three kids…all musically inclined.

Why hip hop? What’s it about hip hop? Don’t you think hip hop is already an over-saturated genre? Why foray into that line?

Simple! “I can’t sing to save my life…laugh”. Aii, let’s say right from get go, hip hop was that singular genre that stood out for me…that  free-to-express-yourself-to-the-fullest platform, I call it. A lot of people are rapping, but how many are really 'saying something (as in, making impact)?'. I’m not saying I’m here to change it all…but I’m here to ignite the spark that will cause the change.
