PRESS RELEASE: Dr Sankty presents - #Escapology [The Producer Diaries]

After the release of his hugely successful music video, 'I No Send U', his epoch making mixtape, 'Declassified', and the founding of his own recording studio/creative playhouse, 17-17 AudioLaB, the medical doctor/rapper/producer is in your faces once more with a fresh new take on the scene. And this time, it's tagged "#Escapology - The Producer Diaries". Presented in assocation with 17-17 AudioLaB and Crynesis Designs, and proudly supported by Club X and TowerGate Records,  this new project will see the rap doctor take more of the production/engineering helm, while bringing a slew of highly talented artists on board for the ride.

Says the music doctor:
"Basically, the core idea [of #Escapology] is to express my creative yearnings in the music prduction aspect of things by showcasing what can happen when highly skilled artistry meets up-to-date, professional production/engineering paradigms. So every month, on the first monday, which we will tag #Escapology Mondays, premiering in May 2012, we will drop a fresh new joint, produced by me and starring the vocal prowess of an artist or artists with proven credibility in the game."

Armed with a Diploma in Music production & Audio Engineering from the Audio Institute of America, as well as his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery degree, Dr Sankty is clearly well qualified to make that medico-musical magic happen once again.

See you on the 7th of May for the first #Escapology Monday!

MUSIC: Obiwon Presents His New Singles

R & B crooner turned urban gospel artiste Obiora Obiwon has witnessed enough transitions to keep the Nigerian urban music scene guessing and his followers constantly on their feet. Nevertheless, the successes of the albums “Overture” which spun the hit ballad “Onyinye” and “The Rebirth” equally heavily driven by the hit wedding anthem “Obi Mu O”, position him as a force not to be ignored in Nigerian popular music and
beyond.

FEATURE: 7 Hip-hop Artistes Spit Fire On Bossman’s "WON NI" (The Remix)

Fresh from nomination as Best Male Artiste and Best Hip Hop Artiste in the upcoming National Gospel Awards and Radical Praise Awards respectively, The Bossman pulled together a line up of hip-hop heavyweights for the remix of his song "WON NI" (DEM SAY).

WON NI (The Remix) Features Rooftop Mcs, Dr Sankty, TB One, Vivien Stephen, J Rhythm, Provabs and Bossman.

WON NI is a song directed at strengthening the fast developing gospel music scene. The remix further drives the same purpose with energy uncommon on the naija music scene. Its message is directed at people who criticize gospel music and highlights the power and strength of good gospel music. The chorus simply says “They are saying we don’t know good music, we can’t dance, they are saying we can’t understand good music. Guess what? They are wrong!”.
The joint will be out on radio stations soon. Check out the pics from the shoot here.

ARTICLE: "Secular" To The Glory Of God

By Steven Patton of Rapzilla.com

Recently some popular artists in the Christian Music scene made a decision to stop making music that appeals to the “christian market” in lieu of making music that appeals to the general market. In fact, the word that they used to describe what they do is “secular” music. I believe, as long as they as HUMAN BEINGS stay rooted in scripture, I think it is possible to make “secular” music for the glory of God and advancement of His kingdom. Let me say that again - I think it is possible to make “secular” music for the glory of god and advancement of His kingdom.

ARTICLE: Homosexuality - Confessions Of A Gospel Artist!

by Debbie Kuks

Growing up in Nigeria, West Africa, Homosexuality was a non-spoken word in homes and in the church. I do not recall if I ever heard any preacher talk about homosexuality act in any form or recollect parents asking their kids if anyone ever touched them indecently or molested them. I would not have had interest in the topic myself if I was not rudely awoken to the reality of my past. My quest for knowledge started when God took me to the genesis of my life when He mandated me to write about the iniquity of our nation in my first book, “From The Bleeding Heart of God…To A Bleeding Nation.”(A must read!). It was not until then that I started discovering the revealing truth about homosexuality. Homosexuality is what I call a sexual vice!
