Integrity Music artist Israel Houghton makes history as his new release ''Love God, Love People'' is the first Christian iTunes LP. Houghton also becomes the first artist, mainstream or Christian, to have an LP release that includes interactive social network capabilities, a music mixer and Bible verses, as well as the ability to create your own album cover. The release, available as from August 31, interactively includes not only new music, but also animated lyrics, chord charts, liner notes, performance videos, photos and other bonus materials, as well as the first-ever interactive “Mixer”. Similarly, users can interact with the first-ever LP “Create A Cover”, making their own Love God, Love People cover artwork, which they can share on social networks. Houghton continues to break ground, as he was the first Christian artist with an iPhone Application in 2009.
For those of you not familiar with Charles Granville, he is a multi-talented singer/actor/model/motivational speaker/peace ambassador who is of Niger Delta origins (Port Harcourt to be precise). Being on the scene for quite a bit, he's come up with this unique video for his lead single,"By My Side", which has been on air for sometime now. We thought it'd be cool to feature it here live and direct on Club X eMag.
P.S.- We have not yet confirmed who owns the video directing credits!
Introducing to all of cyberspace, Club X eMag & Club X Mp3 Downloads jointly present the online debut of a brand new single, “Opemipo”, by a somewhat new lady on the block, Tope Thompson. Rife with an ample helping of percussive elements, generous saxophony, and sleek instrumental production skills by Dekunle [recall his genius on “He Good” by Psalmos], this joint is a heart-melting tune likely to lead you into the next phase of many a worship session!
Tope Thompson, a fresh graduate of Computer Science at Bowen University, is by no means a stranger to the industry, having being more prominent on the live music/church worship circuit for more than ten years now. Her mentors include CeCe Winans, Karen Clark, and Tope Alabi.

With a rock solid heart for expanding the Good News using the global powerhouse of hip hop as his double-edged sword, Tubosun Durotoye, better known as TBos, is challenging stereotypes, re-defining what the word ‘swagger’ really embodies, and raising the bar for a whole new generation of contemporary gospel media ministers. In this Club X exclusive interview, he sheds light on his driving forces, his former life, and a sneak peek into what lies ahead.
So, first and foremost, let’s get to know you. Let’s assume you walked into a room where absolutely nobody knew who TBos was, and you were asked to give a brief monologue about yourself. What would that be?
I’m Durotoye…'Bosun Durotoye (James Bond feel). An Information Technologist/Web Solution Provider by day and a Gospel Rap Artist by “DAY & NIGHT”... A dancer turned rap star. Last of three kids…all musically inclined.
Why hip hop? What’s it about hip hop? Don’t you think hip hop is already an over-saturated genre? Why foray into that line?
Simple! “I can’t sing to save my life…laugh”. Aii, let’s say right from get go, hip hop was that singular genre that stood out for me…that free-to-express-yourself-to-the-fullest platform, I call it. A lot of people are rapping, but how many are really 'saying something (as in, making impact)?'. I’m not saying I’m here to change it all…but I’m here to ignite the spark that will cause the change.
Prominent pastor and author Bishop T.D. Jakes has signed a distribution and marketing agreement between his imprint Dexterity Sounds and Universal Music Christian Group. The first project to be released under the new agreement will be ''Sacred Love Songs II,'' the much-anticipated follow-up to its nearly gold-selling 1999 predecessor that featured Shirley Murdock and Marvin Sapp. In addition, the team at Dexterity Sounds has begun work on the soundtrack for Jakes' latest film titled ''Jumping the Broom.'' Produced by Jakes and Tracy E. Edmonds, the film tells the story of two families from totally different socioeconomic backgrounds who meet for the first time at a weekend wedding on Martha’s Vineyard.
Just in case, for some unexplainable reason, you happened to miss out one one of the more outstanding gospel videos of '09/'10, here it is all over again, for your viewing delight. It's TB-One's "Igwe" video. Love the quick cuts, the all-round energy and the car challenge scene on this one. Cameo appearance by Frank Edwards.
Club X eMag is proud to present to you a solo track by a blazing new and sensational act, Rico Slim.
If you have been paying some attention, that name will immediately ring a bell. He was the rapper featured
in Club X's Remake single of Young Money's "Roger That", titled "You Say", ably manning the second verse sixteen bars strong.
Now we premiere for you his own solo single, titled "Tomorrow", produced by a chap known as Nastizzle. All vocal credits (both singing and rapping) go to Rico himself!
Rico is an indigene of PH, birth name Eric Ahiauzu, and is a graduate of Economics. He likes to call his brand,"Naija Pop". Others call him a "Christ-ertainer", but we just call him Rico Ingenious.
Decide for yourselves, folks. And please drop your candid opinions in the comment box. Peace!
"...Trouble no dey come stay cuz BABA J [esus] go make way..."
Blame it on the pitiable level of collective creativity in much of today’s Naija Christian media as a whole. Blame it on the fame and fortune driven Naija entertainment rave of the moment. Blame it on the neglect of contemporary entertainment media by those in gospeldom who ought to know far better, have all the fiscal muscle it takes, but still sit on the sidelines and do nothing. Blame it on the atomic bomb passion exploding in the hearts of some concerned few who have a Hi-Def vision for the picture of the gospel’s future in the entertainment nation without ever having to look into a crystal ball. Blame it on whatever you may, but sooner or later we all knew it was bound to happen anyway. That some people somewhere would get horribly sick of the deplorable norm and fumble in their pockets for a drastic change. A break from mediocrity that had too long plagued Christian media just because of a hideously contorted mindset, one that is clearly nothing like the mind of Christ. People who would seek to become the change that they so very much longed for, that yet they knew deep within them was possible.
Be fortunate enough to attend an event where this delectable, energetic young lady happens to be performimg and you will no doubt be forced to ask "who's that girl?!" Well, 'that girl' happens to be none other than...(drum roll)...Psalmos! Or as you would more accurately hear on any of the tracks that her passion laced voice adorns, "Psalmosi l'omo yen o!". From the right looks to the right voice to the right contemporary gospel swagger to the right man (oh yes, this one's already taken, guys!) in form of her producer, and one of the most innovative and fast rising in the biz at that, Psalmos (driving license reads Bolaji Olayinka, Mrs) could easily be said to 'have it all', though she'd quicker attribute all her attributes to the Most High than snog any of it for herself.
A final year student of Relations & Personnel Management at Lagos State University and an Ekiti State (Professor Psalmos?) indigene, she is undoubtely a woman of enormous passion for her art, bent on taking her gift to the highest levels of achievement humanly possible. She set a daring foot into the world of professional singing and songwriting in 2005 when she was welcomed into the helms of Christ Living spring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM), and immediately got into the choir, underwent the required-often gruelling-tutoring it took to transform raw talent to bankable craft, and since then never looked back.
Peep this hot video from Rapper/Doctor/Producer, Dr Sankty, which premiered on air a while back, but is still generating buzz and acclaim. So we thought to re-visit it and re-live what is definitely destined to become a classic moment in gospel music video history.
Dr Sankty is currently signed to TowerGate Records, and is preparing to release his mixtape-promo cd-album prequel, "Declassified, The Prequel To The Album", soon.
Check out this amazingly cool brand new video from Reach Records' Trip Lee. Directed by TK McKamy and Sho Baraka, this video is definitely EVERYTHING a proper gospel music video should be. Peep it folks!
We proudly present to you...Club X featuring three mega-dope, ferociously spittin', demon scorching emcees, namely: Dr Sankty, Rico Slim, & TBos, on a track tagged "You Say?", which is a remake of Young Money's "Roger That", with a spiritual [believe it or not] new twist to it!
